Food and Drink Company
It was a hot summers day as we welcomed 1000 guests to Alexandra Palace for their food conference, exhibition and awards day.
We hired the Great Hall, the largest room at Alexandra Palace, which can hold more than 10,000 people and we transformed the space into a food exhibition, in the style of Glastonbury meets village fete! Tractors, bread vans, coffee vans, cake stalls, pigs and white picket fences all added to this look!
The purpose of the event was to educate and inform the General Managers of the company on the 60 food suppliers that Pret a Manger use. These suppliers came from all over the UK and Europe. We created 10 themed zones incorporating the various areas of food within the company, and these zones created a fun and energised environment where guests could sample and learn about the food, competing to win gold stars which led to prizes. There was also two large igloo domes where talks took place every 10 minutes for guests to listen to.
The DJ played in the band stand surrounded by deck chairs for guests to take a break, and the organist opened the exhibition playing "food glorious food" which provided the wow effect as the exhibition was revealed.
A delicious BBQ was enjoyed on the terrace and in keeping with the theme of quality food Gelato Gusto served up some premium ice creams.
Following the food exhibitions guests were invited back into the auditorium for an afternoon of rewards and recognition.
